Autumn Days-Women of Vision

Hello to all,

This card was for a short demonstration at my Women of Vision Business Group.  It was my turn this last week to give a 15 minute talk about my Stampin' Up! business.  This group consists of women who own a business so it is not just stampers.  We have a real estate agent, mortgage broker, insurance, hair salon, medical, restaurant owner, caterer, and other home businesses.  Quite a variety but a lot of fun to meet twice a month.  This group learns more about each of our businesses and we recommend those in our group to meet the needs of people we know or meet.  I was surprised to find out that a lot of people do not know about Stampin' Up!  So my talk was about basics.  I mostly stayed with the catalog explaining the items and how wonderful our colors coordinate.  Then at the last I gave a short demonstration on creating the above card and gave the card along with others I had made into our Thank You basket.  My card and talk was well received and also was asked to decorate an antique table for a fall theme using my Stampin' Up! products and creations for the restaurant.  Wow, what a great way to have people see my work and pick up business cards.  I also was invited to leave samples and business cards at the hair salon.

This card is so easy and fast to make it will qualify for my "Pony Express" cards.  These cards will be ones that can be created from start to finish within 15 minutes.

So here are the details:

I used the stamp sets Autumn Days, found on page 92 of the IBC, and also Teeny Tiny Wishes, page 145.  (Teeny Tiny Wishes is a must have set.  There are 24 sayings in this set to fit every occasion.)

The card base is Natural White and the wheat stamp was used directly on the base.  I first stamped in More Mustard and also stamped off once giving a lighter shade.  Then stamped a second time with Soft Suede and stamped off.

The layer is More Mustard with a strip of Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper, topped off with a snippet of Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon.  To add some 3-D, the large button from the Button Latte set was used and a strand of Natural Hemp Twine tied in a knot through the holes.  I frayed the ends after trimming.  Two Glue Dots help hold this button tight to the ribbon.

After adhering the layer with Snail Adhesive, I stamped the "Happy Thanksgiving" above the layer using Soft Suede.  A light brushing of the sponge in Soft Suede around the edges and it's done.

Hope you enjoy and thank you for visiting.  Have a sweet day!
Pamela

Here's a tip:
The ribbon length sometimes moves so I use a little Snail Adhesive on the back side of the ribbon when using as a layer to keep it from shifting.  Also, Glue Dots on each end of the ribbon and tucked behind the layer keep the ribbon snug.

I love your card! It's simple, yet WOW! May I please case your idea for a group of seniors from an assisted living center? I have such a hard time with simple. They are in their late 80s, early 90s. Thanks for the inspiration!
