Anything but a Card PPA13 Challenge

Hello to all,

These little clips were made with my grandaughters in mind but to play with the Pals Paper Arts Challenge too.   I wanted pink and shiny for the clips.

The top left was colored with Pink Passion Craft Ink and Heat & Stick Powder.  I clipped it to a wooden skewer so it would not stick together while heating with my Heat Tool.  *Note--do not touch the clip as it will be hot.  Then a generous coating of the Micro Beads to cover while warm.  Heat a moment more to set beads. You may have to push down and move the beads a bit to get in place.  Let cool and your done.

The clip below is with the Fine Supernova Glitter in pink.  I also covered the top with Passion Pink Craft Ink and Heat and Stick Powder, heated, and then quickly poured on the glitter.  Shake off excess and heat quickly again to set glitter.

The right clip uses the large flowers from the Pretties Kit.  The pink flower is made by spritzing a white flower all over with water and colored with the Aqua Painter and Melon Mambo.  Dry carefully with heat tool.  Then using a paintbrush I painted on Shimmer Paint Frost White.  For added depth to petals, I added Melon Mambo Ink Refill to some of the Frost White.  Let dry.  If you use the heat tool do not get too close as the paint can bubble.  The white flower is covered with Shimmer Paint Frost White also.

When dry, I folded in half and pleated the middle, used sewing thread and wrapped the end tight and tied off.  Then I made a snip down the center of the stem so that it would open as a brad.  I covered the clip with Organza Ribbon and Sticky Strip.  Next, I carefully made a couple of stitches on each side of the open stem to the clip covered with ribbon to help hold in place.  A few drops of Crystal Effects on each side and let dry clipped to the skewer.

There--you have three shiny pink clips for little girls.  I can't wait to make a few more and mail them to my granddaughters.

Hope you have a sweet day and be sure to visit Pals Paper Arts by clicking on the image on my sidebar.  A lot of creations to inspire you.  See--it's not just cards we make.      : )

  5. Very nicely done! I love the sparkly clip and how you made your own pink, sparkly flower. The shading and shimmer on it looks awesome! Never would have thought to paint the Pretties flowers with the shimmer paint, but I love the look!

    TFS!
